M.A.D. Foods produces the Butter Craft line of butters and spreads. We produce in a limited geographic area, using raw ingredients that make “free-from” possible. Production facilities and processes are integrated with a social conscience and commitment to small-scale farmers.

Our Butter Craft Provisions line introduces novelty to Dairy shelves without exiting the comfort zone. High-fat, Euro-style butters present in color-coded shelf-ready sleeves of eight. Marketing support is built into retail programs and prices.

Our goal is to provide a springboard for excitement in everyday family meals. The target consumer is concerned about sourcing, ingredients, health profile, and value. Butter Craft Provisions hits all the right notes. Flavors answer the American call for adventure: gourmet aspirational yet familiar. Full-on flavor bombs are meant as finishing complements to most food groups, from protein to vegetables to legumes. They are tailor-made for Keto- and Whole 30 diets. A dollop of butter transforms everyday meals into full-on extraordinary.

Plant-based butters spoon-feed the vegan/flexitarian diet. Our base is organic coconut oil, which carries badges such as Fair Trade and Non-GMO. Flavors differentiate our plant-based butters, to stimulate the consumer and endorse inclusivity.

The secret ingredient? Rather than compromising on ingredients or integrity, we switched to automated packaging equipment.

Thierry and Amy Farges jump-started the food revolution in the ‘80s as wild mushroom importers and distributors to restaurants. We pivoted to retail with our first product, Black Truffle Butter. Thierry adapted his Dordogne grand-mère’s recipes, rich in full-fat butters and truffles, to the American thirst for adventurous flavors. As author of a cookbook and survivor of French cooking school, Amy handles recipe development and marketing. They share boisterous family meals, rich in flavor and conversation, as a centerpiece of their melded heritage.

M.A.D. Foods is a niche producer of curated, small batch specialty foods.  We focus on regional raw materials and process them close to the source.  Our heritage French recipes are adapted to please the adventurous American palate. In addition to Butter Craft Provisions, we produce butter and duck products under Aux Délices des Bois and private label Animal Fats.
